I find the colours and the screen-prints in these two pieces are bold eye catching. The richness in the blues and reds add vibrancy, which is then emphasised by the intricate detailing from the free machine embroidery. The embroidery takes a flat print and gives the hearts a texture, as does the lace appliqué on the right ventricle.
